Q: Think Necros will get any new summons?
A: Yes, only 2 summons are Core, and Prophecies had a total of 3 summons, while Factions had 4 (5 altogether if you own both). Since the min summons the there has been in the game at any given point SO FAR has been 3, it is reasonable to assume that when adding the Nightfall skills for Necros at least 1 new summon will be introduced. I will go as far as to make another assumption: since the skill format that was used for Factions seems to be the skill format of choice for future chapters (same split of new skills), it is reasonable to assume that out of the 10 new elites enough will be in Death Magic to maybe suggest a new elite summon. This is all what they would call "educated guesses." I think at least 1 new summon tho is very very highly probable.

I would love to see a standard skill with a skeleton that does not have degen, but has different drawbacks, kind of like a quickly disposable warrior that you can keep with you.
Dont know if this would be balanced at ALL but ill try. (Death magic of course)

Spell. Exploit nearest corpse to animate a level 1...10 skeleton. The skeleton does not have regen but suffers double damage from all sources.
this would be pretty cool, as they would be good chaotic fun, and might even be more fun if they could be made of different AI and you could have as many as you want, but liek with each one they take exponentionally more damage or soemthing of that sort.
Anyone think thats stupid?

On, the idea of a new summon for Nightfall, maybe instead of a skeleton, how about a demon or something? Like, Summon Sand Demon, or something along those lines.
If anyone has an idea for stats, post it, cause I wouldn't know what would be good and what wouldn't.

So much to comment on in 3 pages of posts.
I hate the 2 corpse thing. Summons take long enough as it is that corpse denial can rob you of the one you want. Wasting an Elite on the possibility that there will be two unused corpses in range would make this a useless skill.
I like the turn enemy, but since it doesn't deal with death but instead the mind and allegiance, I would call it a Mesmer skill, probably an elite. I would also add a huge drawback to it, like "for 10 - 20 seconds control target non-allied creature. When Turn Enemy ends, target creature's attacks against the caster do +50% damage for 10 - 20 seconds." This would show how miffed they are at getting controlled like that.
I like the idea of adding Elite Elementalist summons.
If they ever add Demon summoning, it should be with a new character class, not Necros.
The originally proposed undead summons with same skill set is very cool, but it should target only allied corpses, and your ally should get control over it. It should also be a strippable enchantment and end if a Res skill is used on the animated corpse.
An Elite desert-themed minion with a permenant Tainted Flesh is extremely cool. I suddenly feel that i need it.
I love the scarab bursting out of a live creature thing. I think I would modify it as follows though: "Target enemy is hexed with Burrowing Scarab for 30-5 seconds. If target is below 10 - 24% health when Burrowing Scarab ends, a level 1 - 14 Undead Scarab bursts out killing target enemy. Burrowing Scarab does nothing if target dies before it ends." But for those who want it now, try Malign Intervention.
Here's one of my own to add:
Animate Hellhound: 15e 3c 5r
Exploit nearest animal corpse to animate a level 1 - 14 hellhound. Hellhound's attacks do Fire Damage.

Animate Bone Pigeon
Target corpse creates one Bone Pigeon. Bone Pigeon has the ability to launch smelly poop on target. This ability can be used multiple times till Bone Pigeon dies or is consumed by random mending wammo hungry for chicken substitute.

^There were two new summon skills in Factions actually.
I would like a minion that explodes on it's own, without the use of DN and Taste of Death.
Possible draw backs could be a very short (timed) lifespan and very weak attack power and possible immunity from healing skills such as Blood of the Master and Veretra's Sacrifice.

No i didnt mean that this spell would be able to ressurect a player.since players corpses doesnt count as undead (creture type) corpses, only monster undeads & regular minions corpses would. Using it on a PVP necros minions would be eqvivalent of using veratas gaze on them, cept the undead minion have to die first.
The spell that would turn the necro hiself into a "undead", wouldnt trigger "ressurect undead" either, even if the Necro died while under the "be undead" spell. His corpse would still count as a regular corpse, not an undead one

It's an egyptian (is that right?) theme isn't it? So what about a giant snake summon, or the idea of a demon summon sounds cool.
What is the god of death around those parts, I think it's anubis right? I know guild wars doesn't have anything to do with real life, but having something that looks like that would be cool.

Good Idea, Wrong class. Personnaly i think that necros should stick to reanimation of undead and dead related stuff (keep the "Necro" in "necromancer") and leave the Demons for a proper DEMONLOGIST class (which i await for impatiently...) same goes for the other animal summons and such, they deserve their own class (Summoner or something) I dont want to go off on a tangent on this thread but ill say it anyways: We should have Classes that SHARE attributes with other classes.
Ill start a new thread with the proposition.

I vote for plagued Minons ( like the "plagued" in Factions that are diseased and explode after dying)-for lazy MM bombers.
The mechanics are already in the game and it is easy to script and implement just tone/adjust the damage to make it balanced for PvP.

I want new LOOKING minions. Not bone horrors/minions that have a different name (i.e. vamp horrors) and are completely undistinguishable. I want something like a Necrid Horseman or whatever else.
